JOB SUMMARY:
We are currently offering a part time position. The (BISS) Behavioral Intervention and Support Specialist is responsible for the direct care and supervision of children, providing a safe environment while working on implementation of behavioral and permanency goals. Care and supervision may be provided in a variety of settings, including staffed residential homes, foster homes, family homes, and the community.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in social work or closely allied field, or
- High School Diploma with two years related experience in an applicable field.
- Must maintain background clearance and
acceptable driving record.
JOB SKILLS/EQUIPMENT:
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work with a diverse client/family population in a variety of settings.
- Must be willing to take direction in development of behavior management and crisis resolution skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Ability to assess and manage challenging/crisis situations.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:
- A passion to work with children and teens in the foster care system
- At least one year of experience working with children/youth in a professional or voluntary setting
- Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be 18 years or older
- Valid driver license
- An ability to exhibit mature behavior and make independent judgments
- Currently have or within 30 days of being hired, Infant/Child/Adult CPR & First Aid, negative TB test results, current auto insurance, dependable vehicle
- Maintain background clearance and an acceptable driving record.
