  • Responsibilities

    Job Summary:

    We have an immediate opening for a Service Apprentice to service and repair agriculture and construction equipment under supervision and to assist Diesel Technicians.

    The ideal Service Apprentice has…

    - A knowledge of and ability to safely operate agriculture and construction equipment.

    - Excellent mechanical skills, ability to follow instructions and properly use power and hand tools.

    - Ability to read service manuals and schematics and analyze and problem solve.

    - Competence to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner

    - Acceptable Motor Vehicle status, with current driver’s license, and ability to operate motor vehicle

    - Satisfactory results of a pre-employment drug screening

    The Service Apprentice will contribute to our team by: (Duties and Responsibilities)

    - Providing safety-sensitive functions including but not limited to, the operation of motor vehicles, other vehicles, equipment, machinery and power tools.

    - Learning and developing practical skills, participating in classes and workshops, observing and learning with a goal of becoming a skilled Service Technician.

    - Completing maintenance and repairs on customer equipment, which may include heavy equipment, tractor/trailers, and other motor vehicles.

    - Testing specific parts and systems to ensure proper function.

    - Identify mechanical problems either visually or with computer diagnostic equipment.

    - Examine critical parts and systems, and replace malfunctioning parts and systems, may include welding.

    - Maintain a clean and safe working environment

    - Acquires and/or maintains a proper stock of equipment, tools, and materials needed to perform work.

    - Plans and establishes timetable to complete repairs and maintenance and prepares quotes for customers.

    - Assess machines and equipment to confirm safe and proper operation.

    If you have/can: (Skills and Experience)

    - A passion and willingness to become an efficient Diesel Technician

    - A high School diploma or equivalent

    - Completed an Ag Mechanics course

    - Bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections

    - Lift up to 50 pounds at times

    - Work safely in a noisy area with moving equipment
