Position Overview

Motorcity Truck & Fleet Center is seeking a highly skilled and driven Service Center Manager to lead daily operations within our diesel repair and fleet maintenance facility. This role is responsible for overseeing technicians, ensuring high-quality repairs, maximizing productivity, and delivering exceptional customer service to commercial fleet clients.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong diesel diagnostic experience, proven shop management capabilities, and the ability to drive performance, accountability, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations, workflow, and scheduling
• Ensure efficient turnaround times on diesel trucks and fleet vehicles
• Supervise and develop technicians
• Recruit, interview, hire, train, coach, and evaluate technicians and support staff. Maintain accountability, scheduling, productivity standards, and a positive workplace culture.
• Monitor productivity and enforce company policies
• Assist with complex diagnostics and repairs
• Manage customer relationships and communication
• Track KPIs including labor efficiency, revenue, and comeback rates
• Ensure OSHA and safety compliance

Qualifications

Required:

• 5+ years diesel repair experience
• 2+ years in leadership role
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, DPF systems, and diagnostics

Preferred:

• ASE certifications
• Fleet maintenance experience
• Shop software experience
