    POSITION SUMMARY

    Join an energetic and mission-driven team at the National Institute for Fitness and Sport (NIFS)! As a Service Desk Associate, you will serve as the welcoming face of our fitness center, delivering top-tier customer service to members, guests, and staff. Under the guidance of the Fitness Center Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring a seamless and positive experience at our front desk, managing daily operations, and promoting NIFS programs and services. This part-time, hourly position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about health, service-oriented, and ready to engage with a dynamic community. Bonus: free gym membership included.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Ideal candidates will demonstrate the following skills and credentials:

    • Prior customer service experience, preferably in a fitness or retail environment

    • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification (required)

    • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills

    • Professional appearance and demeanor, including wearing a NIFS uniform and name tag

    • Positive, outgoing attitude and a genuine enthusiasm for engaging with others

    • Proven ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced setting

    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

    • Ability to learn and apply information quickly

    • Comfort using point-of-sale systems and basic Microsoft Office applications

    • A passion for fitness, health, and community

    • Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

    • Reliable transportation and willingness to undergo a background check and/or drug screen

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide outstanding customer service during each member interaction

    • Greet and monitor all individuals entering the facility, ensuring eligibility

    • Execute daily desk operations including phone coverage, POS transactions, and parking pass management

    • Educate members and guests about facility amenities, membership options, and upcoming programs

    • Support safety by responding to emergencies and assisting with CPR/AED if needed

    • Maintain and clean exercise equipment, stock towels, re-rack weights, and uphold general organization of the facility

    • Report any equipment malfunctions or member issues to management promptly

    • Collaborate with fellow team members to ensure efficient desk operations

    • Follow and enforce all policies outlined in the NIFS Employee Handbook

    • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Fitness Center Manager or Service Desk Team Lead
