    This is a remote position requiring current residency in the greater Charleston, SC area for site visits and client service within the designated territory.

    Purpose

    The Commercial Roofing Services Director oversees daily operations and ensures the success of large construction projects, service calls, maintenance, and repair programs for commercial roofing systems within a defined territory. This leadership role partners with senior leadership to achieve growth objectives, manage financial performance (P&L, gross profit margins, and SG&A expenses), and ensure operational excellence.

    Functions & Responsibilities

    • Lead and manage service representatives and field technicians performing installation, maintenance, and repair work.

    • Oversee service contracts and coordinate support services.

    • Develop and enforce guidelines, policies, and procedures for service delivery.

    • Resolve customer issues in collaboration with manufacturing and internal teams.

    • Direct project delivery, staffing, performance evaluations, and personnel decisions.

    • Manage field operations to ensure service levels and customer satisfaction goals are met.

    • Set clear performance expectations and foster accountability within the service team.

    • Oversee scheduling, training, and development of field staff and service representatives.

    • Monitor key performance indicators and implement improvement plans as needed.

    • Analyze reports to identify trends, enhance efficiency, and drive results.

    • Manage department budgets, project invoicing, and financial reporting.

    • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, driving repeat business and new sales opportunities such as preventive maintenance programs.

    Required Knowledge and Skills

    • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in commercial roof system design and installation (Mod Bit, BUR, TPO, PVC, EPDM, metal, and coatings).

    • Proven experience managing production crews or service technicians.

    • Strong estimating background for roof replacement, repairs, and maintenance programs.

    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.

    • Comprehensive understanding of commercial/industrial roofing systems and code compliance.

    • Proficiency in identifying and correcting unsafe conditions per OSHA standards.

    • Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.

    • Solid understanding of project budgeting, scheduling, and workflow management.

    • Technologically proficient with phones, tablets, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

    • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management abilities.

    • Customer-focused mindset and ability to collaborate within a team-oriented environment.
