Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team in East Tennessee. This role involves diagnosing and repairing machinery in the field, with a focus on mechanical and electrical systems. The position offers flexibility, minimal travel demands, and opportunities to contribute to our expanding operations while maintaining a strong emphasis on work-life integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical and electrical diagnostics and repairs on machinery, including equipment with ball screws and control systems (e.g., CNC machine tools, grinders, metrology equipment, and routers).
- Conduct field service installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting within the assigned territory.
- Collaborate with clients to schedule and complete jobs efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption.
- Handle administrative tasks remotely as needed, with flexibility in work location.
- Travel to job sites, primarily within a 2.5-hour radius of your home, with most work planned in advance and rare overnight or weekend requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Proven mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills, with experience working on machinery involving precise movements and controls.
- Field service background, ideally with CNC machine tools or similar equipment.
- Ability to travel up to 2.5 hours from home for scheduled jobs.
- Residence in East Tennessee, preferably in or near Knoxville, Chattanooga, Bristol, Morristown, or areas east of a line between Nashville and Knoxville.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a customer-focused mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience with CNC machine installation and repair (plug-and-play candidates highly desired).
- Background in adjacent industries such as grinding, metrology, or routers, with relevant machinery experience.
- Some familiarity with control systems (deep expertise, like ladder logic programming, not required).
- Candidates from unrelated fields (e.g., general automotive mechanics without machinery-specific experience) will not be considered.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base Salary: $75,000 to $115,000 annually, based on experience and skills. Entry-level candidates from adjacent industries: $70,000–$85,000. Experienced CNC service engineers: $100,000–$115,000. Compensation is flexible for the right candidate and can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

Location
This is a field-based role covering East Tennessee, with most jobs within a 2.5-hour drive from your home.
