Title: Service Engineer
Shift: 100% Traveling Role, includes frequent weekends, holidays, and an average of 30% overtime
Salary: $25-$30/hr plus overtime, per diem, travel reimbursement, dependent on experience
Service Engineer Role:
This role is essential for providing expert, on-site technical support for our client's induction furnace systems. You will be responsible for ensuring equipment is installed correctly and maintained effectively, guaranteeing customer satisfaction and operational success.
Service Engineer Responsibilities:
- Install and commission Hi Frequency and Channel induction furnace systems at customer facilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on equipment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic system faults
- Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and diagrams
- Provide technical training to customer operators and maintenance staff
- Complete detailed service reports and travel documentation accurately and on time
- Maintain strong communication with the home office and customers regarding job status
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and site-specific protocols
- Manage tools, parts inventory, and travel logistics efficiently
Service Engineer Reporting Relationships:
The Service Engineer reports to the Field Service Manager and does not have direct reports.
About You:
- Possess a strong aptitude and hands-on ability with mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems
- Demonstrate experience or relevant training in industrial equipment maintenance or field service
- Have the ability to read and understand technical drawings and schematics
- Exhibit excellent troubleshooting and decisive problem-solving skills
- Be willing and able to travel 100% of the time, often working weekends and holidays
- Thrive in a fast-paced, independent work environment
- Maintain a professional demeanor and provide excellent customer service
- Hold a valid driver's license and possess a clean driving record
