    TITLE: Cleaner / Forklift Operator

    REPORTS TO: Supervisor & Area Manager

    DEPARTMENT: Operations

    DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

    Performs a variety of tasks relating to the cleaning of assigned commercial areas which may include entrances, reception, corridors, conference rooms, workspaces, break rooms, and restrooms. Operates lift truck in indoor manufacturing and outdoor throughway and refuse areas. Performs all work in accordance with customer and Company standards, and OSHA and Company safety requirements.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    1. Receives and understands instructions of cleaning requirements of assigned areas.

    2. Receives instructions on schedule and timeframes for cleaning areas and buildings.

    3. Uses a variety of cleaning equipments, materials and products; such as vacuums, mops,dusting cloths, cleaning solutions, etc.

    4. Performs all work safely, in accordance with OSHA and Company requirements.

    5. Maintains awareness of where all product SDSs are located.

    6. Wears personal protective equipment as required.

    7. Works outside commercial buildings for purposes of trash, wood, and waterfowl waste removal.

     

    8.Must complete a basic lift truck operator training program and detailed site-specific safety orientation and be authorized by both the Client and Company to operate lift truck machinery according to OSHA 29 CFR 1910:178 mandates. 

    9.Utilize a tipper bin for trash collection and dumping of refuse into 30-40 yard open yard containers. Manually pick up and properly dispose of loose debris in the wood dunnage area.

    1. Must be able to coordinate and document trash and wood waste pickup from containers and flatbed truck by a separate waste removal contractor.

    2. Must be able to report to Supervisor incidents of metal remaining in wood pallets readied for disposal and incorrect items found in the various waste containers.

    3. Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions in English, and read labels on cleaning products.

    4. Must be able to meet required scheduled work schedule which may include days, or nights,weekends and/or holidays. Must be willing to change shift schedule with minimal advance notice. Occasional overtime, regardless of schedule, may be required.

    ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS

    Performs additional functions as required.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

    Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions in English. Previous experience is

    desirable but not required. Must be willing and able to work scheduled hours.
