  • Responsibilities

    Provide proactive and reactive technical support for hardware and software used in remote, multi-function and related networking equipment and devices. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and service delivery focused. Services provided include new installations, guidance, upgrades and maintenance. Provide general IT technical support for user sites. Address issues of moderate complexity, engages in work planning, scheduling and prioritization.

    Duties may include but are not limited to:

    • Install new equipment and devices, operating systems, peripherals and maintain existing hardware and software. Configure devices as required.
    • Respond to, evaluate and prioritize assigned service orders, for assistance with hardware, software, networking, customer service and other computer-related technologies.
    • Perform device monitoring and update necessary applications.
    • Provide timely, detailed and accurate reports on service work performed, product performance and follow-up.
    • Manage and track inventory. Order new equipment and parts.
    • Provide training and consultations and develop end user documentation.
    • Participate in the development of standard operating procedures.
    • After-hours and weekend support of campus student and athletic events.
    • Perform related duties as assigned.

    Education Requirements:

    • Technical Diploma, Associates Degree or two years college course work.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with Blackboard Transaction Systems or similar enterprise-wide transaction system.
    • Experience with implementing, troubleshooting and training end-users on Sequoia Retail Systems or other point-of-sale application.
    • Experience with managing ticket queue in ticketing system.

    Additional Information:

    • After-hours and weekend support, as required.
    • Travel between locations, as required.
    • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools and to handle other computer components.
    • Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
    • Cash handling responsibilities.

  • Qualifications
    • Proficient problem solving and troubleshooting skills
    • Must possess a strong mechanical aptitude
    • Must be able to take direction well and follow training plans
    • Must possess good communication skills.
    • Ability to work well independently or as a team.
    • Proficient with PC’s, current operating systems and relevant software applications
    • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours/shifts.
    • Ability to occasionally lift up to 75 lbs
    • Overtime is required as needed
    • Must be able to lawfully work within the US and have unrestricted work authorization for US.

     

     PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Knowledge of various card processing and mail processing equipment.
    • Knowledge of Entrust Datacard Equipment
    • Electronics troubleshooting and software applications.
