Our general maintenance and repair shop is looking for a new automotive technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who finds satisfaction in locating the source of a complaint and repairing it back to proper function. Our shop is a team-work environment - we pay hourly and help each other when extra hands are needed. We support our techs in further training and expanding skills, but we are looking for someone with tools and ASE certificates who can jump in and start working on day one. Responsibilities: • Help establish service protocols for tracking the status of repairs, maintaining relevant technical manuals, using charts, and more for all of our dealerships • Follow a checklist-based approach to comprehensively examine all vehicle systems, such as the engine, transmission, air conditioning, and brake systems • Follow all manufacturer specifications for vehicle system repairs to ensure optimum customer satisfaction and facilitate returning business • Clearly articulate automotive repair issues and repairs needed to remedy them to both customers and auto mechanics • Use diagnostic equipment, technical expertise, and the vehicle’s integrated diagnostic systems to identify and determine the cause of malfunction codes • When needed, conduct routine maintenance such as checking fluids, rotating tires, replacing brake pads, and oil changes • Follow a checklist-based approach to comprehensively examine all vehicle systems, such as the engine, transmission, air conditioning, and brake systems • Adhere to manufacturer specifications to maintain vehicle systems and ensure customer satisfaction Qualifications: • Completion of a certified post-secondary training program is mandatory; an associate degree is ideal • Strong customer service and communications skills are needed • Automotive Service Excellence /ASE certification or Society of Automotive Engineers /SAE certification is preferred • GED or high school diploma is mandatory • ASE certification required Compensation: $39 hourly DOE
