Job Description

Provide world-class service for our Drivers & Lease Purchase Partners by adding quality & value through efficient repairs on Class 8 Tractor and Trailers. P&S Transportation seeks experienced Technicians with the highest level of professionalism. Candidates must have verified experience, minimum of five years.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:

• Diagnose, repair & maintain Class 8 tractors and trailers by analyzing diagnostic test results (computerized, sound, visual, feel, smell, etc.)
• Perform Federal DOT inspections as well as preventive maintenance
• Perform light and heavy-duty repairs
• Maintain company owned tools
• Maintain company owned service trucks
• Participate in company paid training & continuing education of OEM spec changes

Qualifications

A Successful Service Technician must consistently demonstrate the company’s Mission and Values. They must have good oral and written communication skills in order to effectively interact with customers, Drivers and other team members in person and on the telephone. They must be customer service-oriented as well as team-oriented and must have good organizational skills. A successful Service Technician must be able to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Finally, they must be able to work a flexible schedule when needed to including Saturdays [if required], evenings, and holidays.

Requirements:

• Valid state driver’s license / US work authorization
• Dependable, organized & self-motivated
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Class 8 technician diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical, hydraulic and diesel systems on Class 8 tractors &/or trailers
• Computerized diagnostic skills, use of OE platforms DDDL, Insite, Davie
• Willing to obtain certifications (ASE & OEM)
• Excellent communication skills
• Basic computer skills (Outlook Email, WO Software, Inventory, etc.)
• Must provide and maintain personal tools and storage boxes
