Alternative Fuel Systems Maintenance
Salary: $22–$34 per hour, based on experience
SCHEDULE
Full-time, Monday to Friday with rotating shifts (9:00 AM–5:30 PM and 5:00 PM–2:00 AM)
OUR CLIENT
Our client is seeking a Service Technician to join their growing operations team responsible for maintaining and repairing advanced clean-fueling systems. This position will work on compressed and liquefied natural gas fueling equipment, ensuring reliability, safety, and optimal performance across multiple locations in the region.
The Service Technician plays a key role in the inspection, maintenance, and overhaul of fueling sites by performing both scheduled preventative maintenance and on-demand corrective repairs. This role also contributes to maintaining an excellent customer experience through site upkeep and operational integrity.
THE ROLE
The successful Service Technician will:
- Inspect, maintain, and repair fueling systems, including compressors, dispensers, storage tanks, dryers, valves, and related components.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems such as switchgear, control panels, sensors, motors, and PLC-based equipment to correct circuit faults and performance issues.
- Maintain and adjust mechanical assemblies such as engines, pumps, coolers, exchangers, and pressure systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Conduct periodic site inspections, log operating data, monitor performance trends, and take corrective action to prevent downtime.
- Perform preventative maintenance with accuracy and minimal supervision while escalating complex issues when required.
- Document service activity and maintenance recommendations using digital work order systems on laptops and mobile devices.
- Ensure all fueling sites remain clean, free of debris, and safe for customer access.
- Travel between assigned stations within the region; occasional coverage for nearby states may be required.
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond to after-hour maintenance needs when necessary.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of related mechanical or electrical maintenance experience.
- Strong working knowledge of both electrical and mechanical troubleshooting methods.
- Ability to interpret schematics, diagnose complex system faults, and restore equipment to safe operating conditions.
- Comfortable working outdoors and traveling between service sites.
- Proficient in using digital tools and maintenance management systems.
