Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Service Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact between customers and technicians, ensuring accurate repair orders, efficient scheduling, and top-level customer service. Salary - plus a bonus based on production.

Responsibilities:

Greet customers, open work orders, and document required repairs and service details.

Communicate effectively with customers regarding estimates, timelines, and service updates.

Translate technical repair descriptions into clear customer language.

Coordinate with technicians to manage workflow and prioritize repairs.

Order and track parts as needed to maintain repair timelines.

Maintain detailed records in the shop management system.

Ensure customer satisfaction through professional communication and follow-up.

Qualifications:

Prior experience as a service writer or advisor in a diesel or heavy equipment shop preferred.

Strong understanding of diesel truck systems and repair terminology.

Excellent organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.

Proficient with computer-based work order systems and inventory tracking.

Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
