Job Position Description:
Area Manager responsibilities include resolving client concerns, staff management, organizing employee shifts, filling in open cleaning shifts, training, inspections, restocking locations, process improvement and motivating team members. This position plays a critical role in ensuring all staff stays on task and complete all assignments to ServiceMaster standards. To be successful in this role, you should have a good understanding of cleaning principles and team management abilities.
Responsibilities
Accomplishes housekeeping human resource strategies by determining accountability; communicating and enforcing values, policies, and procedures; implementing training, coaching, disciplinary, and communication programs; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation strategies
Oversees staff performance and ensures all assignments are completed in accordance to set task schedule
Train supervisors/cleaners on task schedules specific to individual accounts
Perform inspections and give constructive performance feedback to staff members
Assign shifts and make necessary adjustments in case of call-off or no shows
Respond to customer complaints and requests in a timely and caring manner
Ensure compliance with safety and OSHA regulations
1-2 years experience as a custodian, janitor, housekeeper a plus but not required
The ability to be flexible, work at a fast-paced and in a multi-tasked job is a must
Has respect and understanding for co-workers and customers
Must be able to communicate in English. Bilingual is a plus
Qualifications:
Quality Management, Staffing, People Management, Developing Budgets, Planning, People Skills, Customer Focus, Analyzing Information, Process Improvement, Legal Compliance, Verbal Communication
2 years previous management experience working for a professional janitorial company, office complex, hotel, restaurant, hospital or school is required
Must be able to multi-task and work independently and as a member of a team
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Must have a positive attitude and a strong work ethic
Experience in a service environment is preferred
Must be able to bend, squat, stoop, lift 40lbs, and be on your feet for 8+ hours per day
Proficiency in MS Office
High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor Degree preferred
