ServiceMaster of Greater Pittsburgh is seeking entry level individuals seeking to learn the delivery of the broad range of the service we offer. Our Oakmont Pennsylvania office provides restoration services to homes and businesses that are damaged by flood, storm, fire or smoke. Additionally, we are a full construction company that rebuilds homes and commercial buildings that have been damaged in flood, fire or storm. Our Res/Com division provides retail non disaster related cleaning and maintenance services to homes and businesses such as carpet and floor maintenance, post construction cleaning, specialty deodorization and sanitizing . Our "Go Team" travels to regions or cities that are damaged by hurricanes or other large type events.

Property restoration professionals enjoy recession proof employment providing a wide variety of services to homes and buildings in need. We are an "Emergency Room for Buildings" providing emergency services to a wide client base. You will be active in helping people and seeing and making a big difference as result of the team's and your efforts. Once you have been trained, your new skills could allow you to transfer to cities around the country and beyond. This is a one year program that will advance you from an assistant technician position to a technician. Future advancement could lead to lead Technician and beyond as part of our permanent workforce.

Successful completion of each of the four units of training each lasting about 3 months will result in an increase in pay.

Here is a partial list of the processes and service areas that you will gain experience in

Structure drying and dehumidification Specialty Deodorization Procedures

Selective demolition to building materials to advance the drying process Sanitizing and decontamination procedures

Monitoring of the drying process using advanced electronic devices Building cleaning following smoke and fire damage

Documenting the drying process to know when the process is completed Creating containment to prevent cross contamination

Corrosion control services to limit on going smoke and chemical damages Contents and furnishing cleaning and deodorization

Drywall hanging and finishing Commercial and Residential Carpet Cleaning

Painting applications Commercial Hard surface floor maintenance

Trim carpentry Post construction cleaning services

Flooring Seasonal cleaning services

Bathrooms, kitchens and basements Specialty deodorization services including pets.tobacco etc.

This is not an office position and will involve physical activity

General Requirements

Ability to pass criminal background check

In possession of valid Pa drivers license that is insurable with our insurance company

Ability to pass our drug screening check

Able to lift and carry 75lbs

Able to climb ladder to 12 ft

Able to work on your feet for extended period of time

Able to crawl, bend and stoop for extended period through out the work day

Ability to understand written and spoken directions

Able to operate basic smart phone apps for time keeping and communicatioins

Additional Important Qualifications and Requirements

Must be willing to participate in our 24 hour on call program one week out of 4 through out the year

Must be able to be on time for shifts

Must be willing to work a flex schedule during the apprenticeship. We have work that is evening shift, Saturday as well as

Monday through Friday

Must be able and willing to do self study and reading to advance the learning process

Must be willing to have or purchase basic hand tools for demolition and repairs

Must be able to work extended work days with overtime provided

Must be willing to learn technical processes associated with our work

Must enjoy seeing different worksites and meeting different people daily
