    Forensic Clinician Hampshire County Jail Northampton, MA Full-time

    Position Summary: ServiceNet is seeking a forensic clinician to work at the Hampshire County House of Corrections. This is an opportunity for a clinician with an interest and experience working with inmates in a variety of capacities. This position is housed in the jail and works closely with the staff there but reports to ServiceNet as one of their employees.

    Job Responsibilities:

    Crisis assessments and evaluation for men who are sentenced or awaiting trial.

    Conducts risk assessments of inmates placed on checks by case managers or history of suicidality.

    Screening clients for referrals for MH services including psychiatry, and for MOUD/ MAT program.

    Provides initial intake assessment for inmates who are admitted on psychiatric medications.

    Prepares for and participates in the Medication Clinic. Develops list of inmates who need to be seen by the psychiatrist, prints out medication transcriptions, communicates in advance with ServiceNet Medication Clinic staff.

    Performing at risk checks for clients who may be experiencing SI/HI or engaged in self-injurious behavior.

    Handles re-entry planning for all forensic inmates, including arranging appointments with community providers, assisting inmates with obtaining entitlements, assisting inmates with making housing arrangements.

    Meets regularly with inmates housed in the mental health area.

    Runs two groups per week. These groups are provided for: 1) inmates in the mental health area; 2) inmates who are in treatment; or 3) one group for each, depending on the need.

    Working with clients in Protective Custody.

    Works with relevant collateral contacts, including contacting community providers to verify medications and obtain psychiatric history, collaborating with DMH regarding inmates who are DMH clients and referring inmates for DMH eligibility screening.

    Participates in the following regularly scheduled meetings: - weekly Treatment Meeting - weekly Re-entry Meeting - weekly meeting with Substance Abuse Clinician - weekly meeting with supervisor at ServiceNet - monthly Re-entry Roundtable - monthly ServiceNet Staff Meeting/Group Supervision

    Coordinates with ServiceNet outpatient staff regarding follow up treatment upon reentry. Provide for transportation on day of release.

    Prepares for and participates in audits, including the semi-annual DOC audit and the NCCH and ACA audits every 3 years.

    Attends relevant external trainings on work-related topics to enhance job skills.

    Qualifications:

    Master’s degree in clinical work preferably in Forensics

    Independent licensure (LICSW, LMHC, PsyD)

    Strong skills in working on a team and with a variety of professions.

    Very organized and able to use an EHR with strong writing skills.

    Monday-Friday: 9am-5pm

    Position Salary:

    $60,000
