    WHAT YOU GET TO DO IN THIS ROLE: 

    • You will identify and adopt new technologies, technical skills, capabilities, and standard operating procedures that benefit the performance of the team. 

    • You will collaborate cross-functionally with other teams to achieve alignment and compliance with enterprise-wide technology, content, digital, and security standards and initiatives. 

    • You will construct interactive, coded front-end experiences with data from server and product-driven APIs in collaboration with other designers to test design concepts.  

    • Push the boundaries of user interface design through experimentation, developing new tools and processes, and partnering with design, engineering, and research teams. 

    • You will develop architecture and plans for complex systems and APIs to create experiences, prototypes, and tools that enable our internal and customer designers.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

    • 7+ years experience working with Web technologies and creating scalable, robust web applications.

    • A designer at heart who can use software engineering skills to elevate design through prototyping, motion, and developing new tools. 

    • Strong sense of web design principles and passion for exploring the latest technology trends. 

    • Expert-level understanding of modern CSS techniques using Flexbox and Grid.  

    • Expert-level understanding of Fluency in building scalable and robust experiences with modern UI frameworks like Angular, React, or Vue. 

    • Familiarity with design tools such as Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or similar. 

    • Experience with data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, systematic design patterns, and user experience performance/scale considerations.

    • Ability to drive architectural design and discussion with cross-functional teams. 

    • A growth mindset that focuses on continuous improvement and learning.

     

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 

    • BA/BS degree or higher in Design, Design Communication, Human-Computer Interaction, or equivalent combination of education and experience in other related fields. 

    • Experience participating in the complete product development lifecycle of web and/or software applications. 

    • Experience in user experience design or industry experience (corporate, software, web or agency).

    WORK PERSONAS

    Work personas are categories that are assigned to employees depending on the nature of their work. Employees will fall into one of three categories: Remote, Flexible or Required in Office. 

    REQUIRED IN OFFICE

    A required in office work persona is defined as an employee who is contracted to work from or aligned to a ServiceNow-affiliated office. This persona is required to work from their assigned workplace location 100% of the work week based on the business needs of their role.

    FLEXIBLE 

    A flexible work persona is defined as an employee who is contracted to work from or aligned to a ServiceNow-affiliated office and will work from their assigned workplace location roughly 3 days/week or less (generally around 40-60% of the work week). Flexible employees may choose to work the remaining working time from their workplace location or home. Flexible employees are required to work within their state, province, region, or country of employment.

    REMOTE

    A remote work persona is defined as an employee who performs their responsibilities exclusively outside of a ServiceNow workplace and is not contracted or aligned to a ServiceNow-affiliated office, including those whose place of work (pursuant to their terms and conditions of employment) is their home. Remote employees are required to work within their state, province, region, or country of employment.
