    Job Description

    ServiceNow is looking for a Product Designer, Accessibility. This position will report into the Director of Product Design, NOW Design Systems. You will be part of a small team of accessibility-focused product designers and specialists. We are looking for a product designer who is passionate and excited about accessibility and inclusive design. This exciting opportunity will impact accessibility and inclusive design with our key customers and across our design and development organization at ServiceNow.  

    WHAT YOU’LL DO: 

    • Work with key strategic customers and partners to better understand accessibility and inclusive design needs and issues and help find and address solutions to meet those accessibility issues and needs. 

    • Promote, evangelize, and advocate accessibility and WCAG 2.0/2.1 across the Experience Organization at ServiceNow by developing accessibility training materials, and leading and conduct training sessions within the Experience Organization.  

    • Conduct accessibility reviews and audits of ServiceNow Components and applications to provide a summary of accessibility findings and provide recommendations for remediation, including code-level recommendations and solutions. 

    • Maintain and contribute to an online repository for storing accessibility related education, training, artifacts, and resources that are available to internal team members. 

    • Work with other accessibility designers, user researchers, product managers, product designers and software developers to help create a more inclusive and accessible experience for ServiceNow customers and users. 

    • Help designers create inclusive and accessible prototypes, annotations, wireframes, or mock ups, and help design accessibility and inclusive design features. 

    • Function as an inclusive design and accessibility SME, and provide support accessibility across the Experience Organization through the Accessbility chat channel, office hours, and design reviews. 

    • Help mentor product designers across the Experience Organization in accessibility and inclusive design.

     

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    WHO YOU ARE: 

    • Experience working directly with enterprise customers and partners in an agency, consulting or software company setting. 

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including diplomacy. 

    • 5+ years working in product design, or UX/UI design, with experience in any of the following: design systems, enterprise applications, developer tools or data visualization, with a heavy with heavy emphasis on human-centered design methods 

    • 5+ years working in accessibility and inclusive design 

    • An inspiring portfolio showing us how you have researched and crafted great experiences, seeing them through to released products, including examples of accessibility and inclusive design (presentations, guidelines, training, accessibility feature design, etc.) 

    • Advanced understanding of inclusive design, WCAG 2.0/ 2.1 AA and ARIA.  

    • Well-versed in manual and automated auditing and testing techniques using multiple tools and possess the aptitude to mentor others in the tools. 

    • Proficiency in screen reader software (JAWS, NVDA, Voiceover and TalkBack). 

    • Experience using custom OS user settings including increasing text sizes, custom style sheets, and high contrast themes. 

    • Proven experience making technical content understandable to audiences with mixed levels of expertise 

    • Ability to understand and distill complex problems into elegant, informed solutions  

    • Ability to articulate and champion your design solutions based on human-centered design principles and incorporating research data  

    • Expert with design tools (e.g. Figma, Sketch) to produce wireframes and high-fidelity interactive prototypes  

    • Experience working in an iterative and agile development environment  

    • Excellent teamwork and communication skills to effectively collaborate with multi-functional and multi-disciplined teams  

    • High level of initiative and a “make it work” ethos to successfully bring a product design from conception to launch with minimal supervision
