    Job Description

    WHAT’S THE ROLE?

As a two sided marketplace we design and build the tools to help our sellers be as successful in their business as possible. A key component of running an Etsy shop is using our ads platform.

We’re looking for a skilled Lead Product Designer with an ads product experience background to support our Seller Ads Experience. This team works to build clear and simple yet empowering tools that assist sellers in managing the promotion of their items on the Etsy shopping experiences.

Through detailed market and user research, you’ll explore, ideate, validate, and build products that support both our user and business needs. We are looking for someone who can work closely with engineering and product partners while coordinating and strategizing with many product teams across Etsy.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Product Design Manager. For this role, we are considering candidates based in United States who are either remote, flex, or office-based. Etsy offers different work modes to meet the variety of needs and preferences of our team. Learn more about our flexible work options and vaccination policy here.

WHAT’S PRODUCT DESIGN LIKE AT ETSY?

Typically, product designers at Etsy work in a squad with a product manager, 3-5 engineers, researcher and analyst. Together they drive their own part of Etsy, deliver solutions to challenging problems and get feedback directly from customers.

WHAT DOES THE DAY-TO-DAY LOOK LIKE?

    • Discovering insights, opportunities, and requirements

    • Testing prototypes and hypotheses with users to collect feedback

    • Launching experiments and evaluating how they perform and how to iterate

    • Presenting your work to peers and leadership, async and in-person

    • Taking part in weekly design critiques, workshops, all hands and squad meetings

    • Thinking and writing about your process and documenting your decisions

    • Of course, this is just a sample of the kinds of work this role will require! You should assume that your role will encompass other tasks, too, and that your job duties and responsibilities may change from time to time at Etsy's discretion, or otherwise applicable with local law.
