ServiceNow is seeking an experienced and motivated attorney with 5+ years of relevant trademarks and brand protection experience to join our legal team. The position will play a key role in the strategy, prosecution, enforcement, management and licensing of ServiceNow’s U.S. and international trademark portfolio as well as support and grow the relationship between ServiceNow’s legal, product naming and marketing teams.

This full-time position will report to the Senior Counsel for Brand and Marketing. This is an excellent opportunity to join ServiceNow’s expanding legal team and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

What you get to do in this role:

• Collaborate with management, brand, product naming, and legal teams to identify the most strategic areas for trademark protection and brand growth.
• Help develop and manage trademark clearance and prosecution strategy worldwide.
• Collaborate with Senior Counsel on trademark enforcement and brand protection strategies, including trademark opposition and cancellation actions.
• Perform preliminary trademark clearance by conducting and analyzing trademark searches.
• Communicate with internal clients about trademark clearance, use, and enforcement.
• Gather and evaluate evidence and specimens of use.
• Identify efficiencies in the maintenance of our global trademark portfolio.
• Draft, review and negotiate trademark licenses and agreements.
• Support Marketing Legal team as needed to conduct legal compliance reviews of advertising content.

Qualifications

In order to be successful in this role, we need someone who has:

• A JD degree with a strong academic record from an accredited law school
• Current membership in a state bar in good standing
• 5+ years of relevant substantive trademark and brand enforcement experience across all aspects of growing, maintaining and protecting a trademark portfolio, preferably with in-house experience.
• Knowledge of, or desire to learn, advertising compliance laws and regulations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to foster trust, respect, and collaboration with internal clients.
