    Job Description

    This VP, GLOBAL SAFETY AND SECURITY role will lead the teams responsible for executive protection as well as physical security.  This represents an opportunity to build the team, processes, and technology to ensure the security of a rapidly growing global company. 

    • Lead a team of security officers, managers, and safety experts to ensure the safety of ServiceNow employees and guests across over 80 locations in more than 28 countries.
    • Lead ServiceNow’s executive protection team, who protect the CEO and his direct reports, and continue to build the team to be right sized for the growth of ServiceNow.
    • Manage security, including coordination of executive protection, physical security and third-party providers for large offsite events including employee focused as well as customer focused events.
    • Develop recommendations for security and safety projects and collaborate with leadership to implement.
    • Build, maintain and leverage relationships with key external agencies, including law enforcement and first responders in all operating locations as required.
    • Create emergency action plans, preparedness plans, and response plans and collaborate with Human Resources to ensure that proper training is conducted.
    • Conduct and/or coordinate annual safety, security, and emergency preparedness assessments.
    • Lead the team in the identification and implementation of technologies to enhance our ability to detect and contain threats.
    • Develop and administer department budget, managing costs to seek efficiencies and presenting alternative ways to achieve similar outcomes.
    • Develop and drive implementation of near- and long-term security strategy and goals in alignment with company business objectives, priorities, and culture.
    • Lead, manage and develop a high impact team while also being responsible for establishing and leading cross team initiatives to drive process improvements-- effectively identifying and structuring solutions to address complex and ambiguous issues.
    • Develop and present executive level business cases to articulate relevant security risks and advise and consult on highly complex challenges and priorities for executive leadership teams.
    • Build trusted relationships across the business and act as a liaison to ensure alignment with security requirements and best practices, enabling executive decision-making speed as well as an efficient exceptions process.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 10 years civilian experience in tech industry
    • BS degree or equivalent work experience required
    • Secret service, law enforcement or military background required
    • Knowledge of how to leverage technology to assess risk required
    • A record of handling critical incidents successfully
    • Position requires access and responsiveness 24 hours a day, seven days a week, particularly but not limited to emergency situations
    • Must have strong knowledge of organizational safety principles
    • Experience with business continuity and crisis management preferred

    WORK PERSONAS

    Work personas are categories that are assigned to employees depending on the nature of their work. Employees will fall into one of three categories: Remote, Flexible or Required in Office. 

    REQUIRED IN OFFICE

    A required in office work persona is defined as an employee who is contracted to work from or aligned to a ServiceNow-affiliated office. This persona is required to work from their assigned workplace location 100% of the work week based on the business needs of their role.

    FLEXIBLE 

    A flexible work persona is defined as an employee who is contracted to work from or aligned to a ServiceNow-affiliated office and will work from their assigned workplace location roughly 3 days/week or less (generally around 40-60% of the work week). Flexible employees may choose to work the remaining working time from their workplace location or home. Flexible employees are required to work within their state, province, region, or country of employment.

    REMOTE

    A remote work persona is defined as an employee who performs their responsibilities exclusively outside of a ServiceNow workplace and is not contracted or aligned to a ServiceNow-affiliated office, including those whose place of work (pursuant to their terms and conditions of employment) is their home. Remote employees are required to work within their state, province, region, or country of employment.
