This is a remote position. Candidates must reside in a state where COLSA currently conducts business or is authorized to employ staff.
As a ServiceNow Developer, you will play a critical role in:
- Design, develop, and analyze complex and sophisticated software programs for a cloud-based system
- Deep technical expertise, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to work independently on challenging software development initiatives that directly support critical government programs
- Responsible for the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis through design, development, testing, and implementation
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including procurement, human resources, financial management and enterprise services to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our government clients
- Ability to analyze user software program needs, troubleshoot complex issues, and provide actionable recommendations
- Leverage your expertise in compilers, scripting, utility programs, and operating systems to design and develop robust software solutions
- Perform system modeling, prototyping, and analysis to validate software performance and ensure alignment with mission objectives
- Provide insight and technical guidance to scrum team

Required Skills
- Proficiency in designing, developing, testing, and implementing complex software programs
- Strong knowledge of compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems
- Experience with systems modeling, simulation, and analysis
- Ability to analyze user software program needs and provide troubleshooting support
- Working knowledge of desktop applications including word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs
- Familiarity with current operating systems and modern programming languages
- Ability to advise hardware design engineers on machine characteristics that affect software systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex software challenges
- Experience contributing to or producing technical documentation for new or existing software programs
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote work environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional team collaboration
- Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance for access to classified information
- Knowledge of defense, intelligence, or government IT systems is a plus
- Commitment to delivering results-driven, mission-focused software solutions
Required Experience
Required Experience:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Minimum of 4+ to 8 years of related software engineering experience
- Hands-on experience with multiple programming languages and current operating system environments
- Proven track record of performing systems modeling, prototyping, and analysis in a professional setting
- Experience working with compilers, scripting, and utility programs in software development projects
- Experience analyzing user requirements and translating them into functional software solutions
- History of troubleshooting and resolving complex software issues in mission-critical environments
- Experience collaborating with stakeholder or multidisciplinary technical teams
- Experience contributing to technical documentation for software programs and systems
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote or distributed team environment
- U.S. Citizenship required; Ability to pass a government background investigation and obtain access to public trust information
Preferred Qualifications:
- ServiceNow certifications a plus
- Prior experience supporting government, or civil sector programs is preferred
- Demonstrated experience designing and developing on the ServiceNow platform (prefer 3+ years)
