OPPORTUNITY
The YOUTUBE CONTENT CREATOR is a new role reporting directly to the CEO responsible for creating engaging, relevant and valuable video content for our target audience on YouTube. The ideal candidate has expertise in all aspects of video production including scripting, shooting, film editing, as well as the ability to perform on-camera; a professional portfolio is required to apply. In addition, the ideal candidate must be a talented illustrator and 2D animator, being able to compose, illustrate, and animate graphics that convey advice content to our audience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Storyboarding and scripting videos: Create storyboards and scripts based on existing company blog posts with an understanding of the elements required to make videos engaging for viewers and optimized for YouTube's algorithm.
- On-air talent: Connect with our audience as the company's “face and voice” on all videos, demonstrating confidence performing on camera.
- Illustrating and 2D animation: Add animated illustrations to the video using Adobe After Effects and Adobe Illustrator that will express key concepts to our audience.
- Video production (shooting and editing): Using the company's sound isolation booth, manage lighting, audio, video cameras and other logistics to shoot professional videos; use Adobe Premiere Pro for post-production editing.
- Video thumbnails and descriptions: Create eye-catching thumbnails and write optimized descriptions that can boost video rankings.
REQUIRED BACKGROUND AND SKILLS
- At least 2 years of experience in content creation for YouTube or other relevant social media platform (e.g. creating, editing, and appearing on camera in YouTube videos and working on YouTube channels)
- Excellent presentation skills and an engaging on-camera presence
- The ability to create visually-compelling illustrated 2D animations.
- A passion for understanding audiences and what will be helpful to them paired with the creative chops to turn any topic into an engaging YouTube video
- Video production skills (shooting, editing, VFX) using the Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop) and/or other relevant software
- A strong work ethic and drive to set high goals with the project management skills to accomplish them
