    Job Description

    Sessionwise (https://sessionwise.com) is a web design & development firm seeking a Senior WordPress Developer for a contract, remote position.

    The Custom WordPress Developer's main responsibilities/skills include:

    • Developing high-quality/custom front-end and back-end code within the WordPress CMS
    • Experience building custom WordPress themes is a must.
    • Heavy experience using Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) and the native WP page builder (Guttenberg).
    • We use Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) to create Guttenberg Blocks which allows us to create a custom CMS around a custom design. We typically don't use prebuilt themes and/or page builders.
    • Experience using Gravity Forms (WP plugin)
    • API integration
    • Ability to create custom SCSS
    • Custom JavaScript/AJAX development
    • Communicating with the team, designers, and clients to determine website specifications and create clean, modern, responsive code
    • Front-end development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript
    • You should be able to communicate effectively and stick to deadlines/budget constraints.

    You will be working side by side with the Sessionwise team to create & launch amazing websites for our clients. You will be managing and building new & existing websites, primarily within the WordPress platform

    To be successful as a WordPress Developer, you should be innovative, adaptive and demonstrate a passion for technology. Ideal candidates are deadline-driven self-starters with superb communication skills.

    WORDPRESS DEVELOPER RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Interpreting client specifications and identifying website user requirements.
    • Creating timeframes and work schedules to meet deadlines.
    • Communicating effectively with the Sessionwise team.
    • Keeping time (hours) on each project

    WORDPRESS DEVELOPER QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Expert in building custom WordPress themes
    • Expert using the following WordPress plugins: Advanced Custom Fields and Gravity Forms
    • Expert in HTML, CSS, JavaScript
    • 3-5 years of experience in responsive web development.
    • 3-5 years of experience developing websites within the WordPress platform
    • Deep understanding of mobile/responsive website development
    • Experience with Photoshop and other web design creation tools.
    • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
