Job Summary:
The CVB Facilities & Events Support Staff is responsible for cleaning, minor maintenance, and setting up meeting rooms for various functions at all CVB meeting venues. This role assists with in-house catering, light audiovisual setup, and supports special festivals and events under the direction of the supervisor.
Essential Functions:
- Set up and take down tables, chairs, and meeting equipment as assigned.
- Perform sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing of CVB facilities.
- Dust, vacuum, wash windows, and maintain general cleanliness.
- Assist with kitchen duties, including sweeping, mopping, and dishwashing during/after catered events.
- Clean, wash, and refuel CVB facility department vehicles.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
- Maintain regular and timely attendance.
- Interact professionally and respectfully with the public, coworkers, and others in daily work.

- Positive attitude towards working with the public in a hospitality setting.

- Ability to stand for extended periods and work long hours.
- Ability to operate and maintain small equipment and tools (e.g., leaf blowers, hand tools) and follow safety procedures.
- Above-average reading skills for the safe use of chemical cleaning agents.
- Physically capable of pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, twisting, standing, and walking for extended periods in extreme heat, cold, or moisture.
- Ability to move furniture, set up event spaces, and remove trash as needed.
Education, Experience, and Other Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Availability to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays as assigned.
- Must pass a federal/national criminal background check and credit check.
- Valid Texas driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as defined by City policy.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and functional assessment screening (Level 1).
Working Conditions & Physical Demands:
- Exposure to occasional disagreeable environmental factors.
- Light to medium work requiring frequent walking, standing, stooping, climbing, or crouching.
- Use of a computer keyboard, mouse, hands for handling objects, and arms for reaching.
- Regularly required to lift/move up to 15 lbs., frequently up to 35 lbs., and occasionally more than 44 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Work environment noise level is typically moderate.
