OB DESCRIPTION

We are a Title Company in Rockville and are seeking a Settlement Attorney. The Settlement Attorney will be responsible for the day-to-day examination and underwriting of title files. They will also be responsible for reviewing and drafting legal documents, resolving curative matters and conducting closings.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the land title industry is required.

EDUCATION

College Degree and Juris Doctorate Degree required.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, INSURANCE

Member of Maryland Bar, Title Insurance License, and Notary Public

KNOWLEDGE:

Must have an understanding of title operations, underwriting and state guidelines.

Clears and resolves curative matters

Reviews commitments for accuracy

Assists processors with questions regarding curative matters

Answers client questions pertaining to title insurance

Reviews underwriting bulletins and disseminate information to other employees

Reviews and draft deeds

Drafts contracts for new clients

Conducts settlements

Experience with Qualia is a plus
