    Position Summary

    Valet Attendants work directly with VA patients and visitors by providing services to valet park vehicles and provide assistance in/pot of vehicles. Valet Attendants will provide safe, high quality, VIP customer service to every customer to fulfill overall valet parking customer satisfaction for VAMC as needed.

    Must provide a current drivers record

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Assist Veteran patients who request help with exiting or entering their vehicle.

    • If requested on arrival, either get a VA provided wheelchair or remove the VA patient's wheelchair from the patient's vehicle.

    • Assist VA patient in/out of wheelchair, if requested.

    • Load VA patient's wheelchair into their vehicle.

    • Return VAMC (Veterans Affairs Medical Center) provided wheelchairs to the designated storage location.

    • Monitor the valet parking areas to ensure that only valet vehicles are parked in the valet areas.

    • Direct non authorized visitors to the appropriate parking areas

    • Provide self-parking directions to visitors, employees, and vendors.

    • Provide local travel directions and general information about the VAMC facilities.

    • Provide valet parking traffic control directions to ensure vehicles entering valet staging area do not block traffic circle.

    • Report suspicious persons, behaviors, and / or activity to the on-duty Valet Manager and if appropriate, immediately to the VA Police or local law enforcement.

    • Remove dropped off valet vehicles from staging area withing ten (10) minutes of the vehicle's arrival to the staging area.

    • Retrieve valet parked vehicles from valet parking area withing ten (10) minutes from the time of customer request.

    • Safely parking and retrieving valet parking eligible vehicles.

    • Ensure cleanliness and safety of valet staging and parking areas.

    • Monitoring and reporting to on duty Valet Manager any valet parking area violators and / or potential incidents.

    • Provide accurate and timely documentation.

    • Complete all required Valet Attendant activity reports.

    • Safely Park vehicles in the valet parking area

    • Provide instructions to valet parked vehicle drivers on how to check and claim their valet parked vehicles.

    • Valet Attendant drop off procedure responsibilities.

    • Initiate the three-part valet parking ticket as a claim check.

      • Part one – Claim ticket; provide to the VA patient as proof of a valet parked vehicle.
      • Part two – annotate the date / time the car was dropped off; a vehicle description; annotate any visible vehicle damage to the vehicle and its exact location. Ask the driver to sign, acknowledging the damage. * Place the ticket on the dashboard while the vehicle is parked in valet parking.
      • Part three – Record the location of the valet parked vehicle's parking space, date, and time. Attach the vehicle keys and return the keys to the Greeter / Valet Manager/Assistant Manager for safe, secure storage in the locking key box.
    • Valet Attendant Pick up procedure responsibilities.

    • Part three of the claim check MUST be provided before vehicles are returned to drivers**

    • Retrieve correct vehicle from valet parking area.

    • Remove part two from the dashboard; annotate the return date / time on the form and give it to the on-duty Valet Manager to be filed to verify parking counts and any potential damage claims.

    ***** If the vehicle driver refuses to sign the damage acknowledgement, both the Valet Attendant and on duty Valet Manager will sign the second portion of the valet parking ticket and annotate that the vehicle driver refused to sign acknowledging the identified vehicle damage. This action is to protect the VAMC, the Valet Attendant, and the Company from being responsible for car damage for which none of the above mentioned are responsible.

    **When valet parking customers request their vehicle retrieval, they must provide their claim ticket. If they cannot provide their claim ticket, the Valet Attendant will notify the VA Police to resolve the release of their vehicle. All vehicles released by VA Police directive without a claim ticket will be noticed in a weekly valet parking services report.

    ***Under no circumstances will any Seventh Dimension, LLC employee accept tips or gifts for their services. Employees who are discovered accepting a gratuity for their services will be evaluated, counseled, and terminated as determined solely at the Company's discretion.

    Requirements and Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

    • High School diploma
    • Valid state driver's license
    • Clean driver's license

    While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee frequently is required to use foot/ankle motions, hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to stand, walk, sit; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
