    Job Title: Salesperson-Floor Sales

    Department: Sales

    Supervisor: Sales Manager

    Pay: $15/hour plus commission upon successful completion of the probationary training period. Earnings potential: $60,000++++

    Summary

    Serves customers by helping them select and purchase products by performing the following duties.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    Greets customers on the sales floor and determines the make, type, and quality of merchandise desired.

    Displays merchandise, suggests selections that meet customers' needs and emphasizes selling points of article such as quality and utility. Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices. Describe and/or demonstrate merchandise and explain the use, operation, and care of merchandise to customers.

    Follows up with customers to assure satisfaction, respond to queries, solicit further sales, and solve or refer problems. Maintains records related to sales and quotes.

    Checks customer credit and confirms full payment before approving any sale.

    Requisitions merchandise from warehouse. Assist in the maintenance and organization of the showroom.

    Uses a database to research the availability of merchandise. Processes orders.

    Education and/or Experience

    High School Diploma or equivalent, plus one-year of training and/or experience. Two years in an entry-level or higher sales or marketing job.

    Language Skills

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

    Mathematical Skills

    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

    Reasoning Ability

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    Computer Skills

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Order processing systems and Word Processing software.
