  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    1.     Actively manage inspection/quality practices to eliminate escapes and minimize customer returns.

    2.     Review and track all internal and customer quality non-conforming reports (NCRs). Champion and facilitate the Corrective Action Process as defined in the QMS.

    3.     Ensure that Customer Specific Requirements (CSRs) are met by working with customers, engineering, operations, and vendors and other company functions to determine appropriate corrective actions and facilitate the effective closure of these actions.

    4.     Primary Quality team member for the APQP process for new product development and launch; including, but not limited to in the creation of PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow, Design for Manufacturability, etc. 

    5.     Interface with design and production team in coordinating release of new products.

    6.     Manage various projects such as review of new equipment installations, installation support for projects, and safety upgrades; coordinate capital projects as needed

    7.     Report on the performance of the QMS, metrics, and all related issues as specified by Plant Level Management but at a minimum during Management Reviews.  Recommend appropriate improvements.

    8.     Maintain all Quality Assurance records in accordance with IATF 16949 requirements.

    9.     Manage the internal MRB process

    10.   Responsible for development and continuous improvement of the company’s Quality Management System.

    11.   Manage internal and supplier audits, as required by customers and the company’s Quality Management System. 

    12.   Drive cost improvement, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility, utilizing the ITW Toolbox Methodology.

    13.   Conduct cost studies for new processes or equipment; develop improvements for current manufacturing methods & processes; conduct process optimization; determine/improve time standards; perform audits in assigned area to resolve any open issues; make recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines.

    14.   Update plant layout/line drawings in 2D/3D CAD; update part/tooling drawings as needed, in support of Engineering team.

    15.   Provide or facilitate the realization of training to employees as required, including indirect mentoring of maintenance and production resources.

    16.   Support and enforce all plant safety and environmental requirements and policies.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    ·         Associates degree or the equivalent training required; Associates degree preferred

    ·         5+ years machine maintenance experience

    ·         Strong mechanical aptitude

    ·         Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

    ·         Strong problem solving ability

    ·         Forklift Truck Certified

    ·         Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

    ·         Understanding and compliance with safety rules and regulations

    ·         Strong verbal and written communication skills
