    SHANNAHAN CRANE & HOIST, INC. has an immediate opening for an Outside Sales Representative to determine prospective clients and expand sales in the region. The sales representative will provide ongoing customer service and support. Our primary company mission is to sell, install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair overhead cranes and hoisting equipment within our customer’s facilities.     POSITION SUMMARY:

    The primary responsibility is to provide

    PRIMARY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Maintain a well-developed pipeline of prospects
    • Schedule meetings and presentations with prospects
    • Coordinate with other team members and departments to optimize the sales effort.
    • Record all sales activities in the company SharePoint system and keep current by updating account information regularly.
    • Ability to organize and prioritize client visits, along with excellent follow-up and follow-through skills.
    • Support customers by effectively interfacing with customers and the office in repairing equipment as needed
    • Evaluate and make recommendations regarding required upgrades or new equipment.
    • Provide a high level of communication with both office and customers regarding lead times, order status, new equipment, etc.

    SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

    • 2-4 years of sales experience in selling or managing client relationships
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Highly self-motivated.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including frequent use of Excel and Word.
    • Good mechanical and electrical skills encouraged
    • Minimum one to five years of work experience with similar types of equipment in a manufacturing environment
    • A current driver’s license and safe driving record are required
    • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business Marketing, Communications, or related field.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT CONSIDERATIONS:

    • Work in various environments and working conditions depending on the assignment
    • Occasional out of town work required
    • Work is at heights
    • Some heavy lifting required
    • Ability to travel overnight 25-50% of the time.
