    Exciting Opportunities with Share Food Program! We are looking for a Farm and Wellness Education Coordinator to add to our team!

    Share Food Program (“Share”) is the largest-serving hunger relief organization in the Philadelphia region and one of the largest independent food banks in the nation. Share distributes food to hundreds of thousands of neighbors in need each month, over 50% of whom are children, seniors, and people with disabilities.

    Position Overview:
    Under the direction of the Farm Manager, the Farm and Wellness Education Coordinator will oversee school-based programming at Share Food Program (Share). This position will be responsible for developing and delivering hands-on farm lessons to students and community groups. The Farm and Wellness Education Coordinator will participate in school-based fresh produce distributions offering greater access to fresh fruits and vegetables for kids and families. **

    ● Community outreach and engagement to promote farm education programs
    ● Build and maintain relationships with local schools, community members, and other stakeholders
    ● Develop farm-based educational programming including but not limited to: agricultural and nutrition education on the farm, youth internships, cooking demonstrations
    ● Help to deliver hands-on lessons to various groups, schools, and students grades K-12
    ● Coordinate and collaborate with Share's volunteer programs, schools-based produce distributions, and other departments to schedule events at Nice Roots Farm and local schools
    ● Assist with school-based produce distributions
    ● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and on nights and weekends as needed
    ● Additional duties as required **

    Preferred Experience:**

    ● Previous K-12 education experience

    ● Understanding of food justice issues in Philadelphia as it relates to urban agriculture

    ● Previous experience in agriculture

    ● Knowledge of and passion for sustainable agriculture and food and nutrition education
    ● Knowledge of local food systems and agriculture industry
    ● Must be willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
    ● Must be willing to obtain PA Child Abuse Clearance (required)
    ● Must be willing to obtain Criminal Background Check (required)

    ● Must be willing to obtain a Mandated Reporter Certificate (required)

    ● Must be willing to obtain ServSafe certification
    ● Current driver's license and clean driving record

    Physical Requirements:**
    ● Position requires standing up to 30% of the time
    ● Position requires keyboard use or repetitive hand motion
    ● Position requires carrying up to 30 pounds at times **

    Environmental Risks:**
    ● Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions
    ● Position includes potential exposure to loud noises, vibration, and extreme temperature up to 50% of the time. **

    Job Type:** Full-time

    Salary Range: $40,000 - $50,000 per year
