    Sharmila Montessori Preschool is located in a lovely rural setting in Portola Valley, just west of 280 at Alpine Road, in the heart of Silicon Valley, on the campus of Ladera Community Church. We are seeking an energetic and experienced Preschool Teacher to join our team! You will be leading a class of students through the school year, assessing their current academic level, and designing instruction to meet students' collective and individual needs.

    You are passionate about learning and helping students reach their potential. With strong creative and problem-solving skills, you love connecting with individual students and creating an engaging classroom environment.

    Responsibilities:

    Create and updates individual lesson plans for each child

    Individual and small group lessons for children

    Support children with materials throughout the day

    Record observations of children's activities throughout the day

    Build relationship with families by greeting them warmly at drop-off and pick-up

    Lead parent-teacher conferences twice a year with the head of the school

    Prepare the environment, including cleaning, making, refreshing, arranging, and stocking classroom materials

    Classroom management and supervision

    Assist children with developing social and emotional skills

    Assess student's skills and performance to ensure they are meeting developmental milestones

    Qualifications:

    Completed 12 ECE units in Infants- Toddler or BA Degree in child development

    Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in education and classroom management

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ability to closely adhere to the guidelines

    Criminal and background clearance

    CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain

    Lift a minimum of 50 Lbs.

    Work indoors and outdoors

    Ability to assume posture at low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children

    Must be willing to change diapers and help potty train based on child's readiness

    Problem-solving and mediation skills

    Compensation: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
