We are currently looking for part time Certified Lifeguards and Water Safety Instructors.

For part time Summer or year-round Lifeguards (LG).

For part time summer, winter or year-round Lifeguards (LG).We have some opening for the summer and for for anyone local to the Akron Area we do need year round help. Must be able to work early mornings, weekdays, evenings and weekends. Summer our outdoor pool lifeguard hour can be from 7 am to 7:45 pm weekdays,weekends 9 am- 7:45 pm Must be able to work early mornings, weekdays, evenings and weekends. Shifts ranges anywhere from 5:30 am until 9:00 pm weekdays. Weekend we close at 6 pm and the shifts are normally 3 to 5 hours long (We do work around college classes if needed). Must hold valid Lifeguard certification through the American Red Cross. Pass a lifeguard/swimming skill test Also hiring Water Safety Instructors (WSI) to teach group and private swim lessons.

Responsibilities and Duties

Lifeguard Summary: Lifeguarding opening shifts, mid morning shifts, early afternoon to evening shifts.of the indoor pool during the fall, winter and spring months. During the summer months working with a team of lifeguards to operate both the indoor and outdoor pools. Other responsible for ensuring the lives and safety of the Members, providing exceptional customer service to all patrons using the aquatic facilities, preventing and responding to emergencies and assisting in the cleanliness of the aquatic facility by performing the general duties during the shifts assigned.

Water Safety Instructors (WSI) Summary: Responsible for teaching American Red Cross Group Swim Lessons general clean up after swim lessons are over. Private swim lessons are a possibly along with doing the group lessons. We stress that we do both throughout the year and there is a benefit for each.

Qualifications and Skills

Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR/AED for lifeguarding only WSI Certifications through the American Red Cross needed for lifeguards that want to be swimming instructor We do require a BCI/FBI background check if you pass the interview process which the Shaw JCC of Akron would provide.
