ShearWorx has an immediate opening for an experienced Burner / Torch Operator. The Burner / Torch Operator is responsible for cutting ferrous material with a torch. The Employee will be preparing (cutting up) scrap metal to a size acceptable to the customer.  The primary material to be prepared will be steel rail beams but may also include other miscellaneous "yard-scrap." This position may require travel. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Cuts oversized ferrous materials to commodity specifications
• Safely and efficiently operates Cutting Torch / Welder
• Maintains torch equipment to ensure maximum performance
• Clean and maintain work area for fire control and to eliminate trip/fall hazards
• General duties involving physical handling of materials, supplies, Etc
• Must wear all proper PPE while working in designate locations 
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
• Follow company safety standards at all times
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Team player dedicated to the company
• Knowledge of scrap a plus
• Pre-Employment background check and drug screening required as well as fully comply with on-going alcohol and drug policy

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• 1+ years of Torch / Welding
• Process-driven and detail-oriented
• Have a valid Driver's License and legally able to work in the U.S.
• Knowledge of safety standards and adherence to current regulations
• General knowledge of scrap metal manufacturing
• Occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 50 lbs.

COMPENSATION RANGE:

$600.00 - $1,200.00 (based on experience)
