SheerID's technology gives merchants a privacy-friendly, consent-driven ability to connect directly with specific consumer segments, enabling targeted and efficient customer acquisition. We continually seek to identify opportunities for product growth and expansion, and a large part of this is discovering and ingesting new sources of data.

    We are looking for Data Analyst to join our data team in Portland, Oregon. As a Data Analyst you'll be responsible for identifying opportunities for new data partnerships, as well as managing all aspects of the data that powers SheerID's products. These responsibilities include seeking and sourcing data assets from partner organizations, analyzing and evaluating potential data solutions, designing data integrations into our verification products, writing API calls to access various datasets, and owning the overall end-to-end data discovery and integration into the SheerID platform. We're seeking someone who is technically savvy as well as communicative and outgoing. In this role, your day-to-day will vary from being deeply engaged with a given dataset to interfacing with data vendors and partners. You will seek, source, and establish relationships with data providers, while also helping to integrate datasets into our products. Additional responsibilities will include product management through backlog and roadmap development, creation of data pipelines, ETL, identifying optimization opportunities, and ingesting and structuring data. 

    Role Specific Job Duties

    • Identify new data source opportunities to fill gaps in product coverage
    • Technically evaluate partner solutions and data quality
    • Access and evaluate datasets through APIs
    • Partner closely with business development to progress data opportunities
    • Continually seek and research an evolving data landscape
    • Partner with product managers, software developers, and business leaders to develop and optimize product strategy
    • Leverage your expertise with data to come up with creative product solutions
    • Conduct research to identify new sources of data, support customer inquiries, and understand the scope of available data in a given space.

    Required Skills/Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in a related field, STEM experience preferred
    • Comfortable working with large and complex data files.
    • Familiarity working with APIs and other data technologies (SQL, ETL, Excel, etc.), or aptitude & motivation to learn these skills
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Able to lead conversations with potential partners and vendors
    • Bias to action and strongly motivated
    • Organized / able to write & maintain clear documentation
    • Strong prioritization skills
    • Self-directed; able to complete work with minimal supervision.
    • Interest in learning new skills & technologies
    • Ability to think critically and apply a systematic approach to problem-solving
