    Sheet Metal Fabricator

    Pay: $24-26/hr.

    Shift: Mon-Fri 7am to 4pm

    Description:

    • We are seeking a Sheet Metal Fabricator to produce high-quality custom/specialty fabricated components in a shop environment. This role involves fabricating rectangular and round duct, as well as specialty items such as roof curbs/curb adaptors, drain pans, hoppers, belt guards, platforms/catwalks, stainless countertops/hoods, and other one-off custom metal products. Work is performed to industry standards, customer specifications, and shop quality requirements.

    Required Qualifications:

    • 2+ years of sheet metal fabrication experience OR equivalent combination of training and hands-on shop experience.
    • Ability to fabricate from prints/sketches and follow specifications.
    • Comfortable working with common ductwork and fabrication materials (galvanized, stainless, aluminum, carbon steel; PVC where applicable).
    • Basic math and measurement skills (fractions/decimals), layout capability, and attention to detail.
    • Ability to lift/move materials and stand for extended periods (shop environment).
    • Welding experience across multiple metals (stainless/aluminum/galvanized/carbon steel) is ideal.

    Job Duties:

    • Fabricate rectangular and round duct from galvanized steel, stainless steel, aluminum, carbon steel, and PVC.
    • Produce welded ductwork as required for applications such as kitchen exhaust, breechings/flues, shower exhaust, and fume exhaust.
    • Fabricate specialty components such as drain pans, belt guards, hoppers, roof curbs, roof curb adaptors, platforms/catwalks, and breechings, plus other custom items per print/spec.
    • Support the curb/adaptor process by building to approved drawings and helping ensure field measurement information is incorporated when applicable.
    • Fit/assemble parts and components for shipment, ensuring accuracy, squareness, and workmanship.
    • Perform welding and metal finishing as needed on galvanized, stainless, aluminum, and carbon steel components (shop-based; field work may be available depending on project needs).
    • Read and work from drawings, cut lists, and job travelers; verify dimensions with appropriate measuring tools.
    • Maintain a safe, organized work area; follow PPE and shop safety policies.
    • Use and care for shop equipment responsibly in a high-capability fabrication environment with a wide range of machinery.
