Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Sheet Metal Foreman to oversee sheet metal fabrication and installation projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sheet metal work, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards. The Sheet Metal Foreman will coordinate the work of a team of skilled sheet metal workers and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, supervise, and coordinate the activities of a team of sheet metal workers, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety protocols.
- Interpret and analyze blueprints, project plans, and specifications to determine project requirements and timelines.
- Assign tasks to team members based on skill levels and project demands, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Oversee the fabrication, assembly, and installation of various sheet metal components, including ductwork, roofing, and custom fabrications.
- Conduct regular inspections of work sites to ensure compliance with safety regulations and project specifications.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other trades to ensure seamless workflow and communication between teams.
- Train and mentor new employees in sheet metal techniques, safety practices, and company policies.
- Monitor inventory levels of materials and supplies, placing orders when necessary to prevent project delays.
- Address any issues that arise during the construction process, offering solutions and making decisions to keep projects on track.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and project hours.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in sheet metal work preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the sheet metal trade, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques and installation methods.
- Proven ability to manage a team effectively and ensure high-quality workmanship.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop positive working relationships with team members and clients.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; ability to travel to job sites as required.
- OSHA certification or equivalent safety training preferred.
