    Job Description

    Fort Walton Machining is a leader in precision aerospace manufacturing, delivering high-quality components and assemblies to top aerospace and defense clients. We are currently seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our production team.     Responsibilities

    • Fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal components per engineering drawings and specifications.
    • Use hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as brakes, shears, and rollers to shape and form metal parts.
    • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
    • Perform layout work using precision measuring instruments.
    • Drill, deburr, and seal sheet metal structures.
    • Ensure quality and dimensional accuracy through inspections.
    • Maintain a safe and organized work area in accordance with OSHA and company safety standards.
    • Collaborate with engineers, quality control, and other departments to resolve issues and improve processes.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in aerospace sheet metal work or a related field.
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
    • Experience with aerospace-grade materials such as aluminum, titanium, or stainless steel.
    • Familiarity with tools like shears, hand brakes, and drill motors.
    • Ability to lift (up to) 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
    • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement is a plus.
    • FAA repair station or A&P experience is a plus but not required.
