Job Description
_JOB SUMMARY: The Human Resources Generalist performs human resources-related duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the HR functionalities. _
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Communicates with employees and management various human resource policies, procedures, standards, and other agency regulations.
- Responsible for employee status changes (promotions, transfers, etc.); ensures staff eligibility and qualifications; updates job description and issues new wage statements
- Assists with recruitment process as needed and serves as a support to Human Resources Recruiter. Attend job fairs and open houses to assist in recruiting.
- Serves as point of contact for staff and liaise with Asst. Director regarding employee relations.
- Conducts final review of employee documents and ensures all required clearances are met in accordance with funder and agency requirements.
- Responsible for all benefits administration (enrollment entry, terminations, changes/updates, etc.)
- Manages paid time-off policies including resolving discrepancies and utilizing timesheets to review and adjust entries in HRIS system.
- Conducts site visits to develop knowledge of program and culture of facility in order to meet employee needs.
- Maintains the Justice Center Database in order to ensure that all records are up to date for incumbents and current staff (including start dates, termination dates, removing individuals from the system, etc.)
- Maintains accuracy of employee data in HR systems. Resolves and reconcile discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Conducts periodic analysis of recruitment and turnover data and make recommendations as needed.
- Maintains communication throughout employee life cycle (new hire follow-ups, benefits enrollment, new hire orientation, 1st 30 days, etc.); conduct exit survey upon notice of staff separation
- Works closely with Compliance Manager to ensure that all employee files are complete and compliant based on state, funder, and agency policy
- Maintains tracking of participants in the Tuition Reimbursement Program and tracking of Referral Bonus Program.
- Maintains professionalism and engages in respectful behavior in the workplace across all employee levels.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor Degree required.
- 1-2 years of Human Resources experience preferred.
- Experience with recruitments systems, Google Apps, MS Suite, and HRIS preferred.
- Strong customer services and communication skills.
- Must be articulate, professional, competent, and a team player.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have the ability to complete all standard administrative and support tasks including but not limited to climbing up and down stairs, operation of computers/phones/fax/printer/copy machine, and the ability to lift boxes, furniture, and equipment up to 30lbs. Must be able to travel from the various locations and sites of Sheltering Arms.
