Shen Zen Tea is a Seattle-based, organic and artisan tea and kombucha company that has a passion for creating artisan beverages from local ingredients. Our mission is to elevate the offering of tea and kombucha in the industry. We strengthen the appreciation of these culturally rich products by bringing awareness to the land from where the ingredients are grown and, we, the artisans who make them. You may have seen us in PCC or in a neighborhood farmers market. Job Description: We seek motivated and enthusiastic individuals to perform the role of an artisan tea & kombucha customer service specialist in Shen Zen Tea's farmers markets and special events. Workers will be expected to run market operations smoothly and efficiently while focusing on customer service, product display and quality control. Customer Services Specialists will be expected to work independently once trained to do so. Interviews, training and orientation will be required of all workers. Knowledge of tea and kombucha is not as important as a willingness to learn. Part-time and Full-time positions are currently open. Job Requirements: 1.) Have a genuine interest in serving customers with a friendly personality. 2.) Have an interest in tea and kombucha. 3.) Experience with food service. Food production is a plus but not a requirement. 4.) Have a legal Washington State driver's license, clean driving record, comfortable driving a van is a plus. 5.) Washington State Food Handler's Permit (easy to acquire if you don't have one) 6.) Available smart phone or hotspot for square Responsibilities: 1.) Promote a positive workplace. 2.) Educate market customers through sampling and discussion. 3.) Meticulous cash handling and record keeping. Experience handling a cash register is a plus. 4.) Maintain an attractive and customer focused booth -- products, signage, sales literature, tablecloths and more are carefully controlled to maximize visual impact and accuracy of info. 5.) Follow all procedures and guidelines to promote a safe working environment. Knowledge and Skills Required: 1.) Reliable transportation or the ability to drive a company vehicle to our Seattle, WA facility or farmers market locations. 2.) Excellent customer care skills -- you get excited about serving a diverse population at a quick pace. 3.) Physically able to stand for long periods of time (4-6hrs), lift up to 50 pounds, and move equipment safely and quickly. 4.) Transparent and diligent communicator. 5.) Keen attention to detail and organization amidst a fast paced and ever changing workday. Hours: We require 20 hours minimum from workers, which can be covered in just 2 days. We also have positions that can bring your hours up to 40 hours. Scheduling: Shifts start in the beginning of May. Another round of hiring will occur in June. This is a seasonal opportunity that can lead to other opportunities at Shen Zen Tea. The farmers market season ends in September. Compensation and Perks: $18-$20/hr based on experience and ability to drive a truck. We also offer a $20 trade credit each day at the farmers market so you can trade our product for groceries and lunch at the markets. At Shen Zen Tea, our team is our family.
