Shepard Bros., a premier family-owned manufacturer and supplier of specialty chemicals and services to a variety of industries in the Western United States, has an immediate opening in our La Habra, CA facility. The role is Transaction Specialist. We are seeking a candidate with excellent communication skills (verbal and written), dynamic interpersonal skills, and high emotional intelligence. Responsibilities: • Work with the Shepard Bros. enterprise resource planning system to enter sales orders based on information provided by customers and the company sales force • Generate documentation for orders to inform the Production Planner of product requirements, sales personnel of customer ordering activity, and the Shipping department of order fulfillment requirements • Maintain customer product list, pricing, freight terms, and tax status • Provide order and billing history to customers and Sales Representatives as requested • Communicate with Sales Representatives via phone and e-mail to resolve delivery and billing issues using conflict resolution skills • Communicate with Production Planning, Sales, and Shipping department personnel to process customer orders • Supply certificates of analysis and material safety data sheets to all new customers and to any current customers that may request them to provide necessary hazardous information concerning the products • Follow all company procedures and policies • Maintain professional relationships and diplomacy with vendors, customers, co-workers, and management Qualifications: Requirements • Ability to read, write, and speak English. Knowledge of Spanish is a plus • Proficient level of skill in Microsoft Office • Possess good organizational skills, the ability to prioritize work and time management • Possess a high standard of work ethic to ensure the confidentiality of company information • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions • Ability to work with internal and external customers, resolving problems in an acceptable manner to ensure customer satisfaction • Willingness to work overtime as needed Physical Demands • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required (and not limited to) to sit, speak on the phone, perform data entry on a PC, file, and attend meetings • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds Education & Experience Requirements • A Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree is preferred but not required. • One to two years of experience working in customer service and/or experience with chemicals is preferred but not required Compensation: $22 - $24 hourly
