Responsibilities: • Manage administrative assistants, paralegals, and law clerks • Determine case strategies and solutions to serve clients’ needs after analysis • Represent clients in court to argue motions during legal proceedings • Counsel clients by assessing options and determining the best course of action for a successful outcome • Complete legal research and prepare motions, pleadings, and briefs • Consult with clients to ascertain their estate planning objectives, and provide legal guidance on matters such as wills, trusts, tax planning and asset protection • Draft, review, and revise a variety of estate planning documents including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives • Conduct legal research on matters related to estate planning, tax law, and probate to ensure the firm's advice is up-to-date and compliant with current law • Collaborate with senior attorneys to strategize and implement estate planning goals tailored to individual client's needs • Represent clients in probate court and other legal forums as needed • Manage client relationships, including conducting initial consultations, follow-ups, and maintaining open lines of communication • Oversee paralegal and support staff in the preparation and organization of documents and legal filings Qualifications: • Candidates must currently be a member of their local bar association - active member preferred • Work independently while handling a heavy caseload • Over 1 year of experience representing clients in a law firm • Public speaking, decision-making, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are necessary for this role • Ability to use Microsoft Office is required • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school • Admission to the New York State Bar, with good standing • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in estate planning and related practice areas • Proficient in legal research tools and case management software • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills • Strong analytical ability and problem-solving skills • Capacity to manage multiple clients and various assignments simultaneously Compensation: $53,000 - $61,000 yearly
