    Summary: The Cheba Hut Shift Leader is responsible for assisting with strategic direction and supervision of the crew and overall shop operations. They are expected to uphold and hold accountable: food quality, food safety and prevention standards, positive shift communication, genuine interactions with customers and crew, shop cleanliness, effective business flow, and accurate product execution. They will coach and develop the team through role model behaviors.

    The Shift Leader will report to the General Manager and have accountability to the Assistant General Manager.

    Supervisory Responsibilities: The Shift Leader will oversee the crew during scheduled shifts

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Uphold and Execute the “Big 4”

    Create and Maintain a Positive and Motivating Work Environment

    Uphold Food Safety and Product Quality Standards • Maintain High Level Awareness of Shop Operations and Cheba Hut Experience

    Execute Crew Accountability Expectations

    Uphold and Execute the “Big 4”

    Understand the “Big 4” – atmosphere, cleanliness, interaction, and product quality

    Ability to recognize if the “Big 4” expectations are being upheld during the shift and prioritize time and attention to areas of opportunity

    Be a thermostat, not a thermometer – control the atmosphere in the restaurant through awareness of music volume, appropriate conversations in BOH, shop temperature, and overall customer satisfaction

    Ensure all service areas are clear of debris through regular table touches

    Get the team excited about customer interactions and coach areas of improvement when applicable

    Lead by example through self-accountability - always upholding the “Big 4”

    Create and Maintain a Positive and Motivating Work Environment:

    Execute a high level of communication skills in both positive and negative situations. The Shift Leader must always have a “set up for success” mindset

    Responsible for the continued coaching and development of the crew

    Maintain and meet SPMH and Labor metrics

    Lead, motivate, and support the team through coaching, recognition, and accountability

    Contribute to the shop culture by maintaining a positive attitude & working shoulder to shoulder

    Embrace individuality / show respect to everyone in the shop, including vendors and partners

    Uphold Food Safety and Product Quality Standards:

    Accurately write the prep list and stock list by following shop PARS

    Ensure that food orders are placed and received correctly when applicable

    Complete 100% of Line Checks applicable to the shift and execute F.I.F.O. practices

    Coach and uphold proper food safety practices per Cheba Hut and state/national health code requirements

    Execute high level awareness of product rotation at the beginning of shift and at shift change

    Complete the shop Waste Log

    Maintain High Level Awareness of Shop Operations and Cheba Hut Experience:

    Ability to plan and pivot with shop needs on a shift-to-shift basis

    Ability to call audibles during busy, short staffed, and stressful shifts

    Complete Battle Plan - have “aces in their places” to ensure smooth operations

    Awareness of both verbal and nonverbal communication of employees to identify sustainable workload during the shift

    Verify that all orders are correct and executed per Cheba Hut ticket time standard/expectations

    Execute Crew Accountability Expectations:

    Be transparent and consistent with coaching opportunities and hard conversations

    Treat every crew member the same when holding accountable – no favorites

    Execute shop documentation policy when applicable (i.e. write ups) • Uphold shop policies – no silent approval

    Communicate critical information and feedback to shop leadership in a timely manner

    Required Experience, Skills & Abilities:

    Required state food safety certifications • Willingness to solve complicated problems and see projects through to completion

    Ability to manage time and effectively prioritize numerous projects at one time

    Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain crew relationships and influence behavior

    Working Conditions:

    Ability to lift 47lbs

    Stamina to work a 10-hour shift

    Ability to stand up to 10 hours per day

    Ability to work under mentally and physically stressful situations

    Ability to work in team environment with high levels of collaboration

    Ability to handle a variety of foods including meat, cheese, breads, sauces, and vegetables

    Overtime may be required

    Must be comfortable with marijuana themed culture
