    The Shift Lead serves as a model for fellow staff members and leads by example. Acts as an advocate for staff and residents they supervise. Helps to plan, develop, implement daily activities, and effectively enforce policies and procedures of the organization. The shift lead represents the agency in absence of management and follows- up on all commitments.

    Responsibilities:

    Comprehension and knowledge of all regulatory requirements to include contract, minimum standards and accreditation with target goal of 100% compliance;

    Completes and sign off on shift change log (Ensure that all clients are accounted for and facility is clean);

    · Ensure on a daily basis the safety and cleanliness of all areas of the program;

    · Attend weekly staff meetings and work with the staff to develop appropriate treatment interventions for the residents;

    Ensures a high standard of professional practice in all aspects of childcare and in staff development, teamwork and interdepartmental collaboration and support;

    Communicate effectively with others and deter gossip and negativity that impacts clients, staff and the workplace;

    Emphasize and role model for all staff the importance of maintaining a therapeutic environment, residents rights, safety and the participation of residents and families in the program;

    Adhere to all regulations and standards necessary to meet licensing and accreditation compliance;

    Report precautions, restraints, schedule conflicts or any incidents or concerns that occur to Supervisor and LCCA immediately;

    Ensure consequences are given and noted in shift change log and followed through;

    Make sure maintenance request form is filled out on all needed repairs;

    Transport clients to and from school, health care appointments, family visits, etc.;

    Ensure Policies and Procedures are enforced;

    Identify and assist with Employee Performance Issues and evaluations;

    Monitor/Supervise clients when making weekly calls and log;

    Directly supervise and lead the childcare staff in day-to-day performance of their duties;

    Administer medication and keep accurate records;

    Adhere to all regulations and standards necessary to meet licensing and accreditation compliance;

    Support an environment conducive to professional growth and learning by providing staff development programs to improve competence;

    Serve on committees as designated by the Staff Supervisor;

    Demonstrates knowledge of age-specific growth and development activities for residents;

    Complete a minimum of 50 hours on in-service training hours annually in child-care services, excluding first aid and orientation;

    Maintains competence in identified standard, core and critical competencies;

    Participation in the Performance Appraisal process including a review of your Job Description and completion of job responsibilities; and

    Other duties as assigned.
