Position Summary:
The Shift Leader plays a key role in supporting the General Manager and leading the team during daily operations. This person sets the tone for service, energy, and guest experience — ensuring every shift runs smoothly, every guest feels welcome, and the staff stays motivated. You’ll act as both a hands-on leader and an assistant to the GM, helping execute the AJ’s standard of excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and motivate the front and back-of-house team to deliver outstanding food, drinks, and service.

• Maintain a fun, energetic, and team-oriented atmosphere — making sure every shift feels like a party for both guests and staff.

• Assist the GM in daily operations including opening/closing duties, cash handling, and staff management.

• Support training and development of team members to uphold company standards.

• Monitor food quality, portioning, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction.

• Communicate effectively between kitchen, bar, and floor teams to ensure smooth service flow.

• Step in to resolve guest concerns quickly and positively.

• Help manage inventory, labor, and waste control in coordination with the GM.

• Lead by example — showing professionalism, teamwork, and pride in AJ’s brand every day.

Qualifications:

• Previous restaurant or bar leadership experience preferred.

• Strong communication and people skills.

• Ability to stay calm and organized under pressure.

• Reliable, team-focused, and ready to take initiative.

• Must be available nights, weekends, and game days.
