    Job Description

    The Product Owner at ShiftPixy is responsible for leading the teams that develop new products and features that enhance the people process experience for internal and external customers.  You’ll work with teammates in data, design, engineering, marketing, operations, finance, and research to bring ideas to life and achieve our goals. You’ll be responsible for helping businesses use technology to be more efficient in all aspects of the ShiftPixy Ecosystem. You’ll lead at the intersection of one of our most critical applications, develop a compelling user experience, reduce time-intensive labor, accommodate business growth, maintain compliance, and make data-driven decisions. 

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

    ·       Lead a cross-functional team to define new features and product specs, establish milestones, and direct development, implementation, and evolution of new features.

    ·       Hold team accountable for meeting goals; help remove obstacles and blockers.

    ·       Serve as a product expert, engaging and managing the work of subject matter experts from the business.

    ·       Provide continual guidance for the development and execution team(s).

    ·       Lead, manage or orchestrate activities for completion and proper documentation of product requirements and validating metrics as appropriate for methodology and Enterprise controls.

    ·       Work with the business and engineering teams to identify and mitigate risks to include business operational risks.

    ·       Resolve issues and develop recommendations for solutions.

    ·       Partner with users, sponsors, stakeholders, and Engineering Team to facilitate, define and document relevant business processes, gaining an understanding of the needs, measures, and risks & controls for the improvement area.

    ·       Serve as direct representative of the business with development and execution team(s), representing/reinforcing businesses perspective throughout the product realization cycle.

    ·       Work with the business process owners to develop metrics to manage and track benefits, adoption and risks to operations.

    ·       Assist with project level plans related to schedule, scope and resources.

    ·       Manage, prioritize, and assess the impact of all work items, such as new features, defects, etc., including providing the decision to create, fix or defer at the project level.

    ·       Review, and when appropriate, accept and prioritize feedback and new requirements from stakeholders/users.

    ·       Ensure output of development is reviewed and accepted or declined by appropriate stakeholders to ensure specified acceptance criteria have been completed.

    ·       Prepare the business for the change and arm them with tactics and metrics for benefits, adoption, and risk.

    ·       Customer Development

    Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

    • Bachelor of Science or equivalent
    • Two to five years’ experience in a similar position
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Possess excellent telephone skills
    • Detail orientated
