    Title: Corporate Human Resources Business Partner

    Location: Remote in Chicago, IL

    Role Description:

    The HRBP will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of HR practices at ShipBob. You will develop, implement, and maintain human resources policies, procedures, and forms; support department managers and employees regarding personnel issues; and maintain personnel records in accordance with organizational/ regulatory requirements. The HRBP will report directly to the SVP, People and support employees in the corporate function. This includes teams, such as: Engineering, Product, Finance, Marketing, etc...

    What you’ll do:

    • Offer consultation, facilitation and resolution strategies for employees on workplace issues.
    • Maintain a smooth onboarding & offboarding process for HQ employees (approvals, paperwork, E-Verify, H1B).
    • Own a center of excellence within the realm of: benefits administration; internal & regulatory compliance; employment law & regulatory requirements; employee engagement; leave of absence management; risk management (safety/unemployment), ERG programs.
    • Mediate and resolve employee relations issues; conduct thorough and objective investigations; performance improvement plans; disciplines and terminations when necessary.
    • Facilitate/administer performance management plans for HQ employees.
    • Conduct compliance audits to ensure the company is in regulatory guidelines.
    • Encourage and participate in community involvement.
    • Create reports, compile and analyze data to drive business decisions.
    • Coordinate quarterly business reviews with each department to review the people & compliance metrics, culture, competition, etc…
    • Serve as the HR representative for the company’s crisis management committee.
    • Ethics Enforcement - Mitigating potential people and business risks as they arise, such as disciplinary actions. Ensure policies, practices and procedures are administered fairly and consistently and applicable to local, state and federal laws.
    • Identify training needs in regards to compliance and soft skills enhancement and work with the Head of Training & Development to design, implement and ensure deadlines are met.
    • Provide input on workforce and succession planning as well as assist in plans for business unit restructuring.
    • Conduct weekly meetings to check in with each business unit.
    • Partner with Head of Talent, Head of Training, Head of Fulfillment HR to align strategies; communicate changes
    • Ad hoc projects

    What you’ll bring to the table:

    • Bachelor degree in Human Resources or Business related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
    • Minimum 4+ years of Generalist experience required, preferably in a tech/corporate environment.
    • SPHR/PHR, SHRM credentials strongly preferred.
    • High level of confidentiality and experience management extremely sensitive information.
    • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR practices, with efficient process to stay on top of constant changes.
    • Ability to understand and interpret data as well as the ability to make recommendations and take action utilizing that data.
    • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and work with all levels of management.
    • Solid presentation, speaking, writing & communication skills to a wide range of group sizes.
