We are seeking experienced Shipfitters to join our team in Norfolk, Virginia. The Shipfitter is responsible for fabricating, assembling, aligning, fitting, and installing large metal structural components used in ship construction and repair.

The ideal candidate will have strong shipbuilding or heavy industrial experience, excellent blueprint-reading and layout skills, and the ability to perform high-quality fitting, burning, and welding work in demanding environments.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of journeyman level shipfitter experience
• U.S Citizenship required
• Demonstrated knowledge of shipbuilding processes, procedures, and terminology.
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and reference lines.
• Proficiency in fitting, measuring, layout, alignment, tack welding, burning, and scarfing.
• T-1 welding certification required for FCAW.

Assessment:

There will be an assessment conducted on the following:

• Welding 2G, 3G and 4G (FCAW)
• Burning, cutting and scarfing
• Fitting, measuring and tack weld.

Unique / Additional Requirements:

• Must be available and willing to work all shifts, including nights, weekends, overtime, and varying schedules as required.
• Must be comfortable and capable of working at heights, in confined spaces, and in other challenging shipyard environments.
• Must be physically capable of frequent carrying, pushing, pulling, standing, reaching, bending, and performing repetitive manual tasks.
• Must have sufficient visual and auditory ability to safely perform assigned duties, recognize warning signals, and identify hazards.
• Must maintain a high level of safety awareness and consistently follow company, shipyard, OSHA, and customer safety requirements.
• Must be able to understand and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
