    Shipt is a membership-based marketplace that helps people get the things they need. Our friendly shoppers handpick fresh groceries and household essentials and deliver them to members in as soon as one hour.

    We're currently on the lookout for an eager and detailed-oriented UX Content Strategist to join our team. This person will be focused on producing and improving copy for multiple Shipt customer-facing products. Reporting to Shipt's broader copy and branding team, and working with a team of passionate colleagues, you will be involved in shaping the future of our company. We are founded on the mission of simplifying lives; serving members, shoppers, and communities by offering convenience and freedom.

    In this role, you will face user experience, design, and innovation challenges as you seek to find the optimal balance between constrained space and clear communication. You are a natural leader and take ownership and pride in the quality of your work.

    This position is available in our Birmingham or San Francisco office.

    We're looking for product writers to join us at multiple levels and are dedicated to a transparent interview process. If selected for an interview, we will have a candid discussion to assess which level you would thrive in most at Shipt.

    YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Deliver concise, user-focused copy that proactively answers questions, drives retention, and calls for action across multiple Shipt consumer facing and internal products.
    • Define product content strategy; writing clear and concise content across multiple touch points
    • Create and maintain a usable product copy style guide that allows product and development teams to move quickly; proactively clearing bottlenecks
    • Interact with customers and customer-facing teams to understand how users engage with our products and what information they need to be successful
    • Prepare content for mobile and web experiences, ensuring it's on brand and highly usable
    • Offer a content strategy perspective throughout the product development process, and influence strategic decisions across and within products to improve the overall user experience
    • Develop content frameworks, product narratives, and other deliverables that explain your strategy

    REQUIREMENTS

    • 1-3 years experience as a technical writer, preferably focused on consumer facing products
    • Excellent technical writing skills and an innate knack to make complex topics and phrases easy and engaging
    • Experience writing content that is used across multiple platforms (web, iOS, Android)
    • Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines
    • Ability to work well independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
    • Self-directed, highly motivated, and proactive
    • Combines strong execution skills with a real passion for building great customer experiences.
    • Exceptional communication skills which allow you to bridge the gap of a multi-office environment.
    • Exhibits a positive, can-do attitude and be willing to work in a hyper-growth environment. In other words, roll up your sleeves and thrive in a fast-paced start-up.
    • A portfolio with samples of great product, UX, email, and mobile app content, including microcopy and push notifications.
