Shipt is a membership-based marketplace that helps people get the things they need. Our friendly shoppers handpick fresh groceries and household essentials and deliver them to members in as soon as one hour.

We are currently looking for a Web Engineer to join our Growth team. You'll have the ability to work on large scale projects exploring new ideas/features in our application. The team owns projects that enhance user experience and drive positive changes in our applications. WHAT YOU'LL GAIN

You'll join a team of talented individuals who will provide you with hands-on mentorship on topics ranging from design to communications strategy.

REQUIREMENTS

• 2+ years of relevant work experience
• You know have a solid foundation in Computer Science or related field
• React.js, Javascript, CSS, HTML, and Node.js 
• You understand the principles of good API design including REST
• You know common algorithms and data-structures and understand algorithm complexity
• You understand encryption, hashing and security best practices
• You understand common security flaws like SQL injection and XSS vulnerabilities
• You know the correct things to test and emphasize testing in development
• Have the ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts simply and concisely
• Embrace challenges and love learning new things
• Have an understanding of functional and object-oriented paradigms
• You love beautiful and fast code

NICE TO HAVES

• Experience with ReactJS, AngularJS, or similar framework
• Experience with open source software and dependency management
• Experience with web servers and developing web applications
• Experience with RESTful APIs
• Experience with Amazon Web Services, including EC2, ELB, RDS, Route53, Cloudfront, SQS, Dynamo, IAM
